Toen ik zes tot acht jaar was, was ik gefascineerd door de statische ruis op onze analoge televisie. Soms ging ik even bewust aan langzaam aan de knop draaien voordat ik de zender vond, in dat gebied waar de ruis mixte met diagonaal verspringende lijnen, glicthend met het eigenlijke beeld. Ik zie een overeenkomst met hoe mijn hersenen en mijn psyche die glitches vertonen. Als trans en neurodivergent persoon ben ik verreweg van het vertrouwde kanaal.
Noisy TV is gemaakt van dikke tapijtwol. Het formaat is 80 x 45 centimeter gepresenteerd in een baklijst. Dit is de eerste keer dat ik een lijst gebruik voor mijn weefsel, ik vind dat het werkt. Het voorkomt dat mijn glitches alle kanten op gaan.

When I was about six to eight years or so, I was fascinated with the static noise our analog TV could produce. When turning the knob just off channel, it would mix noise and diagonal lines glitching with the actual image. I see a resemblance in the way my brain and psychology have glitches. Being trans and neurodivergent I’m far off the main channel.
Noisy TV is made of thick wool carpet yarns. The size is 80 x 45 centimeters presented in a floating frame. This is the first time I use a frame, I think it works. Prevents the patterns and glitches from going all over the place.
