The second of the Glitching Mermaids series.

Glitching Mermaids – Ocean is the second weave of the Glitching Mermaids series. First warp, though in the same threading as the Waves of a Mermaid. It continuous on my Weaving Glitches research.
For the wefts I used beige for the top and bottom, and alternating beige/brown/orange for the wavy bit. I thought of the ocean and all it’s turmoil.

Toen ik zes tot acht jaar was, was ik gefascineerd door de statische ruis op onze analoge televisie. Soms ging ik even bewust aan langzaam aan de knop draaien voordat ik de zender vond, in dat gebied waar de ruis mixte met diagonaal verspringende lijnen, glicthend met het eigenlijke beeld. Ik zie een overeenkomst met hoe mijn hersenen en mijn psyche die glitches vertonen. Als trans en neurodivergent persoon ben ik verreweg van het vertrouwde kanaal.
